Elie Le Goff joined NepTech in March 2022. He started out as an intern and quickly found his place within the team before signing a permanent contract. Today, he plays a key role in the company as a Naval Architect, responsible for designing the sustainable ships developed by NepTech.

A Naval Architect at the heart of design

“My job as a Naval Architect is to design ships in their entirety,” explains Elie. “I’m responsible for 3D modeling and plans, as well as structural and stability validation.”
This technical position requires solid engineering expertise, rigor, and a big-picture view, as it involves every stage of ship design, from the initial sketch to the launch.

Technical excellence as a driving force

He chose to join NepTech because of the balance between a human-sized organization and an ambitious project aligned with his personal convictions.
Among the values upheld by the company, the one that resonates most with him is technical excellence:

“We are always looking to do better, to go further, with precision and high standards.”

This philosophy fits perfectly with the profession of Naval Architect, where every detail counts to ensure the performance, safety, and sustainability of ships.

Escale Sétoise: a landmark project

Among the projects he has worked on, Elie cites Escale Sétoise without hesitation.

“It was a very comprehensive experience that allowed me to strengthen my skills and develop a more global vision of my profession.”

This is an iconic project in the career of a naval architect, combining technical challenges and collective satisfaction.

A stimulating environment at the Technopôle

Based at the Technopôle de l’Arbois in Aix-en-Provence, Elie particularly appreciates his working environment:

“What I like best is the proximity to other startups. It creates a real sense of emulation. And then, the natural setting is ideal: I can go running or cycling at lunchtime, which is great.”

Vision, ambitions, and challenges

When asked to describe NepTech in three words, Elie replies without hesitation: ambition, expertise, and environmental commitment.
His personal ambition?

“I would love to have one or more passenger ships sailing in Swedish or Norwegian waters.”

Finally, his biggest challenge at NepTech remains mastering the entire ship design process:

“Seeing a project through from start to finish, from the design phase to launch, combining technical expertise, management, and coordination.”

Elie fully embodies the commitment and know-how of a Naval Architect in an impact-driven startup. It’s an exciting job working to make maritime mobility more sustainable.
