On the occasion of Paris 2024, the Ministry of Transport is organizing a series of events called Les Mobilités Innov’. These meetings aim to highlight advances in transport and new mobility solutions in France throughout the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Among the key players in this innovation, NepTech stands out with its low-carbon river and maritime mobility solutions.

Opening in Paris, Marseille Stopover

The Mobilités Innov’ kicked off at the Air and Space Museum in Paris-Le Bourget on June 12. This inaugural event, organized by the Agency for Transport Innovation, brought together the main actors in innovative mobility, offering a unique platform to discover and discuss transformative projects in this sector.

A few days before the start of Paris 2024, NepTech participated in the Marseillaise edition of Mobilités Innov’, organized by the AIT, Deki – Ecologistic, the SNCF Group, and La French Tech Aix-Marseille Région Sud. During this meeting, NepTech had the opportunity to present its low-carbon river and maritime mobility solutions. These innovations are designed to address current environmental challenges while providing sustainable and inclusive transport alternatives. The event was marked by fruitful exchanges with numerous project leaders and constructive discussions on the challenges of sustainable mobility.

The day concluded with a speech by Jean-Pierre Serrus, Vice President of the Southern Region in charge of transport and sustainable mobility. His presence highlighted the importance of these initiatives for the future of transport in France.

Mobilités Innov’ will continue to make stops in several French cities throughout the summer and during Paris 2024. To discover the full program, visit the official website.

Paris 2024 Highlights River Mobility with its Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will highlight river mobility, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and innovative transport solutions. NepTech would have been honored to participate in this event on the Seine with an innovative electro-hydrogen-powered vessel.

To recap, NepTech, alongside EODev, was named a winner of the “Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 Mobility Innovations” call for projects in the New Mobility & Active Mobility category, “Fluvial” section, for their project to design and operate passenger shuttles equipped with a hydrogen propulsion system on the Seine and in Marseille during the 2024 Games.

The project, selected from 120 submissions, generated significant enthusiasm among local authorities, Paris 2024 organizers, the media, and transport stakeholders. Unfortunately, the project could not be realized, and the river and maritime shuttles developed for the occasion will not be part of the Paris 2024 opening ceremony. Nevertheless, NepTech has demonstrated its commitment and ability to deliver low-carbon-powered maritime and river shuttles before summer 2024, notably with the launch of a 100% electric tourist vessel in Sète.

NepTech is proud to contribute to the transformation of the mobility sector in France. Our innovative solutions aim to address environmental challenges while providing sustainable and inclusive transport alternatives.
