NepTech has been designated as the winner in the “Transport and Decarbonization” category of the French Blue Tech Index 2024. This prestigious distinction is evidence of NepTech’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainable development in the maritime sector.

A notable spotlight for a rapidly growing startup

The first ranking of French startups in the maritime sector, launched following the Call for Applications of the French Blue Tech Index issued by the French Maritime Cluster under the patronage of the Secretary of State for the Sea, Hervé Berville, highlighted 35 promising startups in 7 categories. NepTech stood out in the “Transport and Decarbonization” category alongside other innovative companies such as AYRO, Bluefins, FinX, and Syroco.

NepTech, a naval engineering firm and innovation laboratory, designs electric propulsion river and maritime passenger transport vessels (100% battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell hybrid + battery, diesel-electric hybrid) capable of carrying 10 to 200 passengers. See the NepTech range of vessels. As a true maritime innovation laboratory, NepTech innovates to reduce the impact of its vessels and the naval sector. This is a significant distinction for the Aix-en-Provence-based company, which had secured its first orders for low-carbon vessels a few months earlier.

An awards ceremony alongside all maritime stakeholders

The awards ceremony took place at the National Maritime Museum in Paris in December 2023. Representatives of the winning startups had the opportunity to meet with stakeholders from the maritime world, from clients to investors in the blue economy. The President of the French Maritime Cluster, Nathalie MERCIER-PERRIN, expressed her satisfaction with this initiative, emphasizing that it would serve as a reference and starting point for a broader overview to be reassessed during the year.

Hervé BERVILLE, Secretary of State for the Sea, praised the initiative of the French Blue Tech Index, highlighting its importance in boosting the visibility of French maritime startups. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainable blue growth, emphasizing the crucial role of startups in ocean preservation and ecological transition.
